Dr. Richard Griffey , MD, MPH

Dr. Griffey completed his medical training at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency program (Massachusetts General Hospital / Brigham & Women’s Hospital) in 2001 and completed an MPH in Clinical Effectiveness from Harvard School of Public Health in 2004 with a concentration on quality and patient safety. He served on staff at Brigham and Women’s Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine as Director of Quality and Patient Safety and Director of Information Systems from 2001-2006. Currently, Dr. Griffey is Associate Chief for Quality and Safety in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Griffey has particular interest in the application of information systems in achieving quality, safety and performance improvement, as well as in evidence-based imaging, and has worked, published and taught in these areas.
