Jim Grubb , VP of Corporate Communications Architecture and Chief Demonstration Officer, leads the Corporate Communications Architecture organization at Cisco Systems, Inc.

In 1981, Jim established one of the first computer retail outlets in southern New Hampshire, which he operated for two years until joining Digital Equipment Corporation in 1983. After spending five years in New Hampshire and Massachusetts with Digital, Jim relocated to California in 1989 to take a technical role in Digital’s West Coast Sales operation.

Jim joined Cisco in 1993 as a consulting engineer working in the Partners organization. He held various positions in technical marketing and product management at Cisco until 1998 when began leading technology demonstrations with Cisco CEO John Chambers. Since then, Jim has been helping Cisco customers understand new technology, and explaining to businesses how they can apply technology for strategic and competitive advantage. During his tenure as Chief Demonstration Officer, Jim has presented at hundreds of external and internal events, including demonstrations for US Vice President Al Gore, Russian Prime Minster Viktor Chernomyrdin, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, US Senator Hillary Clinton, Mexican President Vicente Fox, Prime Minister Tony Blair, Fortune 500 CEOs, and Cisco customers and employees.

In addition to leading technology demonstrations at Cisco, Jim launched Cisco’s first public relations web presence called News@Cisco. He incubated a digital video start up within Cisco, which is now one of Cisco’s emerging technologies. He is currently developing a communications architecture, which will leverage next generation communication and collaboration technologies, and will enhance communications with Cisco employees as well as external audiences.

Jim is a commercial pilot, musician, astronomer, and an avid boater.
