Dr. David Jaques

Dr. David Jaques is Professor of Surgery, Washington University in St. Louis and Vice President of Surgical Services at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, one of the largest medical centers in the nation. His interest in operating room design and patient safety has led to the development of aggregated data on a ‘wall of knowledge’, promoting intraoperative flow of information during one of the most critical portions of a patient’s hospital care. As a leader in surgical education, he has been an informal student of information design for years. Dr. Jaques is widely published in medical journals, focused on his specialty of cancer surgery and outcomes research. He holds undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan and was trained at, and subsequently held leadership positions in, General Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
