Mike Steimel has been with express scripts for a little over 3 years and currently serves as the Sr. Director of Architecture. Mr. Steimel has been key in transforming the SAN environments into a standards based, highly reliable and efficient environment and is now heavily in the pursuit of doing the same with the Disaster Recovery, backup and recovery technology environments at Express Scripts. Before coming to Express Scripts, Mr. Steimel served as the CTO of Ascent Corporation, a St. Louis based consulting firm and prior to Ascent as the VP of Office Automation for Reuters. Mike's continuous focus on driving towards standardization, automation and virtualization has greatly improved service levels and reliability while significantly reducing cost. Under Mr. Steimel's direction, Express Scripts will be fully transitioned to a tapeless environment later this year, utilizing EMC virtual technologies (DLM, EDL, VMWare, etc.) Achieving the highest levels of reliability, performance and security while minimizing costs.
